CONEY ISLAND
Colorful bursts of a mechanical dream
Coney Island, the former New York island turned peninsula, has been home to the iconic Luna Park for over a century. This series explores the aesthetics of detail. My gaze landed on isolated motifs, removed from from the surrounding hustle, composing a visual memory both joyful and strange.
These photographs, with their direct and pared-down framing, highlight a tangle of lines, structures, and typographic elements. The saturated colors, red, blue, white, evoke both the vibrant energy of the place and its suspended, almost nostalgic atmosphere. Between azure skies and vermilion steel, the series captures a world on pause, where the industrial dream of amusement turns into an abstract stage set.
